由于武汉肺炎疫情快速蔓延，川普总统采取了前所未有防疫措施以保护美国人健康与安全。在宣布美国进入紧急状态的同一天，川普总统还宣布了一项最新抗疫方法：向神祈祷。
为应对武汉肺炎(又称新型冠状病毒肺炎 COVID-19)疫情，美国时间3月11日（周三）晚9点，川普总统在白宫发表全国讲话。他呼吁国会向美国人提供薪资税减免法案，并将毫不犹豫的采取任何必要步骤，以保护美国人健康安全。
3月13日，川普总统宣布美国进入国家紧急状态，从而可以为美国人提供更多联邦政府援助，以对抗武汉肺炎疫情。
同日，川普总统在个人推特发文写道：“ 我非常荣幸地宣布3月15日（星期日）为祈祷日。纵观我们的历史，我们是一个在不同的时期向上帝寻求保护和力量的国家。” “ 无论您身在何处，我都鼓励您以（虔诚）信仰的方式祈祷。（我们）在一起，我们将轻松抵抗（这场）疫情！”
